Cosmic, earthbound avatar,
Mother, Crone and Maiden
Adam wasn't half as pleased,
When he met Eve in Eden
She is sacred geometry
The nexus of womanhood
Birthing stars, and clay and silk
White and red spring. Moontime blood.
Abundant breasts branch out like trees,
Over ripe, sweet and leaking fruit
Common as much, she's the web thats spun
In every young girl, egg and shoot
She's force with for, synthesis,
The mother phenomena,
Life is longing for itself
Each Earthly womb, Andromeda.

This poem was written in celebration of the Empress and how she can be found in the highest most cosmic places, but also in common mothers and girls, including mothers who are in times of struggle and may not feel very divine. The Empress is a symbol of the divine feminine, and is associated with fertility. I wanted to give a nod to her power of sustaining life, especially as I had just given birth and was a breastfeeding mother when I wrote this.
